HUGCLT MISSION STATEMENT
At Hearts United for Good (HUG), our mission is to serve our community with dedication, compassion, integrity, and love. We aim not only to provide essential support but also to create avenues for prevention and sustainable solutions. Our goal is to act as a safety net for those who fall through the cracks of existing support systems, offering hope and tangible assistance where it’s needed most.

Our COMMITMENT​

HUG is devoted to addressing and identifying gaps and unmet needs within Mecklenburg County and its often overlooked and marginalized populations. We strive to ensure that every individual we encounter is equipped with the tools and opportunities to succeed, regardless of barriers such as education, history, finances, or societal stigmas.

We believe that ending stigma, oppression, and the cycles of failure begins with advocacy, understanding, and unwavering devotion. By addressing the structural barriers that perpetuate poverty and offering guidance to heal intergenerational trauma, we aim to create lasting change and build a stronger, more inclusive community.

Our GOAL
Our goal is to act as a conduit, connecting individuals in need to available assistance provided by state, county, and city programs. We achieve this by delivering a wide range of supplies, resources, and direct support, including:

Safe and dependable transportation

Employment and resume training

Groceries, clothing, and personal care items

Tents, tarps, sleeping bags, and other essential items

Our targeted programs focus on key areas such as Food Insecurity, Homelessness & Housing, Animal Welfare, Community Support, Education & Development, and LGBTQ+ and Trans Advocacy.
We are continually developing additional initiatives to meet the evolving needs of our community.
