OUR MISSION
HUG responds to urgent community needs with compassion and action. From disaster relief in underserved counties to veterinary assistance and rehoming for at-risk animals, we meet people—and pets—where they are. We also offer translation support, advocacy, and connection to critical resources for marginalized groups, including immigrant and disabled populations.
OUR VISION
We envision a community where everyone — regardless of income, background, or circumstance — has consistent access to food, shelter, safety, and support. A place where dignity is not earned, but honored. Where families no longer struggle to survive, but are empowered to thrive. HUG’s vision is rooted in the power of unity, built on the belief that by caring boldly and acting locally, we can create a future where compassion fuels change and everyone is seen, supported, and safe.


OUR GOAL
Our goal is simple but urgent: to bridge the gap between crisis and stability for as many neighbors as possible. We aim to expand our outreach, deepen our impact, and remain a dependable resource hub for Charlotte’s most vulnerable populations. Whether that means distributing 10+ tons of groceries each week, offering survival gear to those living unsheltered, helping families care for beloved pets, or responding to emergencies with boots on the ground — we are here to lift people up, one act of kindness at a time.
